Dead bodies galore.... • • • • • (bewertet mit 4 von 5 Punkten) It is is a well-written thriller/mystery that engages the scocial conscience of the reader as well. Murders took place in Guatemala more than 20 years ago, the political culprits never had to face any kind of responsibility. Now Temperance Brennan, a forensic anthropologist, examines the corpses to find evidence against those who were responsible for these atrocities to bring them to trial. At the same time young women are found slaughtered and there seems to be a connection between these cases. Temperance is an interesting character, who has her own bag of problems, both with her own families and and a potential new lover. Reichs ties all these stories together quite well, though at times it seemed a bit convoluted to me, and she might have left out one or two characters so the reader doesn't get distracted from the main plot too much. Occasionally I felt you learned more about dead bodies that I cared too but I guess if your detective is in that line of work you should be prepared for that.
